Robert Curtis has over 38 years of banking experience, holding various positions in the financial services industry from community banks to regional, national and multi-national banks. Robert has enjoyed roles in Retail Banking, Private Banking, Investment Advisory, Commercial Banking and Executive Management across North Alabama. Robert has held positions in the Huntsville, Athens, Decatur, Russellville, and Guntersville markets.
As Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer for a $1.4B community bank, Robert was responsible for the bank’s $700+MM loan portfolio and 44 banking offices with 342 employees located across Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi. He was personally responsible for all aspects of identifying, hiring commercial bankers and retail staff, and opening expanded markets with four new full-service offices in Huntsville, as well as new offices in Birmingham, Murfreesboro, Florence, and Tupelo.
Most recently, Robert served as Executive Vice President, Chief Lending & Business Development Officer for Citizens Bank & Trust where he handled the traditional responsibilities of the Senior Lender role including oversight of the bank’s $605+MM loan portfolio and supervising the Market Presidents and City Presidents along with 32 loan officers in 11 market locations. Robert also managed the Treasury Management Department and led strategic plan implementation for the $1.085B bank.
Among many other accomplishments, Robert completed flagship Leadership Programs with the Decatur / Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Huntsville / Madison County and is currently participating in the Alabama Bankers Association’s Bankers to Leaders program. He also earned an Executive Banking Diploma from The Stonier Graduate School of Banking and was President of the Alabama Young Banker’s Association, serving as Trustee for the Alabama Banking School for a one-year term. Robert is an active member of the Committee of 100.
